There is a Sound meeting at room 305, 272 High Holborn on Thurs Mar24th at 2pm to make cardboard megaphones, materials, songsheets, sound ideas, exchange MP3 files etc
The Sound group urgently need people to join in the singing etc and help hand out flyers alerting people to other events on the day at the start of the March the Embankment at 11am. This part of the march may not get the flyers otherwise and they will be likely to be the first at Hyde Park and the part most likely to have time on their hands.
It is important for this flyer to get out to the regular TUC marchers as they are a group of people likely to be sympathetic to our aims. We have 10,000 leaflets at the Embankment and over a 100,000 on the day will be distributed overall and if only 1% react positively (as happens with a cold call marketing leaflet) that means at least 1000 people who will be up for broadening the action beyond the A-B march model.
It will not just be a matter of handing out flyers as we will also have singing groups, sing-alongs and a boom box to get the mood going. If we can get a group together to do this it can be fun and not risky in any way and really contribute to making the day a success.
Do you have a good protest song? – something new, but easy to teach and sing? if you have an idea then just add a comment at the bottom of ‘arts against cuts sound page (http://artsagainstcuts.wordpress.com/songschantsgamestheatre/), and share it with all
If you have some tracks we can broadcast on the boom box to get the mood going let us know and bring them to the Thur meeting.
