An evening of music, comedy and short talks in preparation for March for the Alternative.
So where is this money going and what is the aim of this event?
their website states the aim, but not why 5 pounds are charged:
We are inspired by the campaigning of UK Uncut. But (sadly) not everyone goes on protests. If we want to build a broad, sustained coalition of opposition to the cuts (as well as to the free market ideology and the toleration of tax dodging), we need to find new ways of drawing people together and spreading awareness.
We will organise a series of creative events, involving music, comedy and short films. Our primary aim is to use the events to gather people together, and inspire and motivate for the long fight ahead. Our secondary aim is put on some damn good nights.
